China Theater Festival to come | 中国戏剧节即将在汉举办
The 17th China Theater Festival will take place in Wuhan between Oct. 9 and 28, the first time this national festival is held in the city.
10月9日至28日，第十七届中国戏剧节将在武汉举办。这也是中国戏剧节首次在武汉举办。

Founded in 1988, the China Theater Festival is an important platform to showcase new theater creations. It is held biennially and regarded as the highest-level theater festival across the country. On behalf of all the artists to perform in the city, Cui Wei, secretary of China Theater Association, expressed his excitement and expectation for this year's festival. "Wuhan has a rich history of traditional Chinese Opera. All the troupes will try their best to present their best performances here to salute this heroic city."
创办于1988年的中国戏剧节是全国戏剧界展示优秀戏剧创作成果的重要平台，每两年举办一次，是我国戏剧艺术领域最高规格、最高水平的展演和评奖演出。中国剧协分党组成员、秘书长崔伟，代表此次所有来汉演员表示了他们对于今年戏曲节既兴奋又紧张的心情。“武汉戏曲文化传统非常深厚。各剧团都将以最精美的艺术、最真诚的奉献，表达对武汉这座英雄之城以及伟大抗疫精神的敬意。”
The coming festival will gather 31 programs, covering 14 traditional Chinese Opera varieties such as the Beijing, Sichuan, Jin and Zhuang operas, as well as dramas, operas and children's plays.
即将到来的这一场戏剧盛宴上，将呈现稍微31台剧目，涵盖京剧、昆剧、评剧、豫剧、越剧、黄梅戏、川剧、晋剧、婺剧、高甲戏、花鼓戏、山东梆子、楚剧、壮剧等14个戏曲剧种以及话剧、歌剧、儿童剧。
The festival will kick off at Qintai Grand Theater with the opening performance "Mother," a Beijing opera by Wuhan Beijng Opera Theater. "Xiang Jingyu" by Wuhan Chu Opera Theater and "Heroes in Harms' Way" by the People's Art Theater of Wuhan will also be performed during the festival.
10月9日，武汉京剧院作品《母亲》将在琴台大剧院上演，为第十七届中国戏剧节拉开序幕。武汉楚剧院作品《向警予》、武汉人民艺术剧院话剧《逆行》等也将在戏剧节上与观众见面。
