A roadshow for the forthcoming film "Lighting up the Stars" was held at the Mixc Dolby Cinema in Wuhan on June 12, providing a chance for locals to meet its film producer Han Yan, director Liu Jiangjiang, leading actor Zhu Yilong, and young actress Yang Enyou.
Shot in Wuhan, the film is full of authentic Wuhan dialect and slang.

The Wuhan-born Zhu plays the role of Mo Sanmei, a mortician who has just been released from prison. The role is in sharp contrast with Zhu's former characters who are usually gentle and graceful. Director Liu said he was surprised by Zhu's acting in the films and thought it was wonderful.
Talking about his filming experience in his hometown, Zhu recalled that he passed by little alleys every day on his way to the set from his hotel and encountered local residents. "They saw me and said, 'Hey, Zhu Yilong, you are back. Come and eat with us after you are off work.' And I felt like, yes, I am back, back at home."
Liu commented that the temperament of the city fits the film perfectly as both are about the vigor of life. As producer Han notes, "This film expresses the theme of how to live and cherishing the present. I hope it can bring warmth to the audience."
The film will be released nationwide on June 24.
