　　4月12日，美国驻武汉总领事馆继新馆落成后发布好消息，申请美国签证的学生和学者们可以在武汉预约面签了! 这对华中地区的人们来说，申请美国签证更方便了!

　　On April 12, the U.S. Consulate General Wuhan announced the good news after the completion of their new location that students and scholars applying for U.S. visas can make an appointment for an interview in Wuhan, making it more convenient for people in Central China!

　　根据美国驻武汉总领事馆微博消息，F、M、J类型的学习和交流签证申请人现在可以预约到该领馆面签，最早可预约日期为2024年5月6日。此前，中国北京、上海、广州、沈阳可以办理申请美国签证业务。美国驻武汉总领事馆能否开办签证业务、便利华中地区的人们一直引人关注。

　　According to the Weibo post of the U.S. Consulate General Wuhan, F, M, and J study and exchange visa applicants can now make an appointment for an interview at the consulate, with the earliest possible date of interview being May 6, 2024. Previously, people could only apply for U.S. visas in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenyang.

　　今年3月28日，美国驻武汉总领事馆在武汉民生银行大厦举行新馆落成典礼。美国驻华大使尼古拉斯·伯恩斯出席了本次典礼。

　　On March 28, the U.S. Consulate General Wuhan held a dedication ceremony at the Minsheng Bank Building in Wuhan. Ambassador of the United States of America to the People's Republic of China (PRC), R. Nicholas Burns attended the ceremony.

　　伯恩斯大使在致辞中表示，中国是美国重要贸易伙伴，湖北武汉是中国中部地区重要城市，是商贸、交通、教育、文化中心，美国重视加强与湖北武汉及华中地区的交流合作，新馆落成后有望每年为中国公民提供20万份签证，将更好服务美国与中部地区人员往来，促进经贸、教育、文旅交流。

　　In his speech, Burns said that China is an important trading partner of the United States, and Wuhan is an important city in Central China and a center of commerce, trade, transportation, education, and culture. The United States attaches great importance to strengthening exchange and cooperation with Wuhan and Central China. After completion of the new location, the consulate is expected to provide 200,000 visas for Chinese citizens every year and will better serve personnel exchanges between the United States and Central China and promote economic, trade, educational, and cultural exchanges.

　　湖北省外办主任章笑梅在致辞中表示，新馆落成特别是签证业务的正式展开，将为增进两国人民了解与友谊架起新桥梁，为湖北及中部地区对美交往合作提供更多便利。今年是中美建交45周年，在两国元首的战略引领下，希望双方进一步加大地方交往力度，丰富务实合作领域。

　　Zhang Xiaomei, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, said in her speech that the completion of the new location, especially the official launch of the visa business, will provide more convenience for the exchanges and cooperation between Hubei, Central China, and U.S. It will build a new bridge to enhance the understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and U.S.
