'Smiling Angels' appear in Yangtze | 5只“微笑天使”江上现身
At 9 a.m. on March 23, five Yangtze finless porpoises tossed up and down for about 40 minutes near the estuary of the Jinshui River at the Yangtze River's Jiangxia section. It is the first time they were observed in Jiangxia District this year.

At 8:30 a.m. that day, Wang Mingwu, a fishery administrator in Jiangxia, came to the office early as usual to do patrol preparations. When he was ready to do some cleaning, he spotted two Yangtze finless porpoises outside the window.
23日早上8时30分，江夏区护渔员王明武像往常一样早早来到办公室做巡逻准备工作，准备做卫生时，发现窗外江面有2只长江江豚露头。
At 9 a.m., the patrol started. "Soon after the patrol began, we found a couple of them leaping out of the river surface, so we drove upstream and found a few more. All together we spotted five," Wang said. According to him, there are many small fish at the estuary of the Jinshui River where the Yangtze finless porpoises come and feed on them.
上午9时，江面巡逻正式开始。“巡逻刚开始，我们就发现一群长江江豚在江面跃出，于是我们开往上游，竟又发现一群，总共发现了5只长江江豚。”王明武说，金水河河口有很多小鱼，长江江豚来这里吃鱼。

The Yangtze finless porpoise is the sole freshwater subspecies of finless porpoise in the world. It is known as the "smiling angel" and the "barometer" of the Yangtze River's ecological environment. Nowadays, it is not a rare thing to occasionally find them in the Yangtze.
长江江豚是全球唯一的江豚淡水亚种，被誉为“微笑天使”，也是长江生态的“晴雨表”。如今，在长江偶尔发现少数长江江豚并不是一件稀奇事。
