The company has been doing research in thermodynamics with a group led by Wuhan University professor Hu Xuejiao. Together with the OPPO thermal lab, they employed a passive hydrogel film cooling technology to develop a cooling phone case. They explained: "As the phone gets hotter, its heat is dissipated by the evaporation of water. Because the hydrogel film automatically absorbs water from the air, this cycle continues indefinitely. It is the theoretical equivalent to how the human body cools down through sweating."

He predicts, "even the clothes we wear could be cooled down with this technology."
