Su Zhengmin, a young man of the Yi ethnic group from the Daliangshan area and a 2022 undergraduate student of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, mentioned 65 people by name to express his gratitude in his 6,000-word thesis acknowledgement. When the story was reported by Changjiang Daily, many netizens were touched which attracted the attention of many other media outlets nationwide.

When Su was 15 years old, his father passed away and he dropped out of school due to family poverty. With the help of the local government and many other people, he was able to finish high school.
苏正民15岁时，父亲不幸去世，他因家庭贫困而辍学。在当地政府和许多好心人的帮助下，他得以完成高中学业。
In his four years of college, Su donated blood 32 times. He initiated a scholarship program, raising more than RMB 400,000 to support 66 students in need. He also formed a voluntary service team to provide summer camps and other public welfare programs for the leftbehind children in the Daliangshan area.

Giving back the help and kindness he received from others has always been the most important thing in Su's heart. He reviewed his bumpy but hopeful journey of college and said that after graduation he would return to his hometown to help more children.
回馈哪些他得到的恩情一直是他心里最重要的事。他在致谢中回顾了自己虽“坎坷”但“充满希望”的求学之路，并表示，毕业后他将回到大凉山，帮助更多孩子。
Su's WeChat name is "Wild Rose of Daliangshan." He said there are a lot of Suoma flowers (or azaleas) in the mountains of his hometown, which are called by the locals "the mountain roses." He hopes that children in the Daliangshan area, including himself, can live their lives to the fullest even in harsh conditions just as the Suoma flowers struggle to bloom in their severe environment.
苏正民的微信名叫“凉山野玫瑰”。他说，在他家乡的山上有很多索玛花，当地人称之为高山玫瑰，他希望，包括他自己在内的大凉山的孩子们，都能像索玛花一样，在艰苦的环境下也能灿烂绽放。
