Hankou Railway Station offers free cold drinks | 汉口站提供免费冷饮
"This is the second pot of mung bean soup today, and it will be ready immediately," said Chef Yang Guobin in the kitchen of the canteen of Hankou Railway Station at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 while stirring the soup in a stainless-steel bucket on the stove.
“这是今天第二锅绿豆汤，马上就出锅。”8月16日9时30分，在汉口火车站综管办食堂后厨，一口不锈钢桶放置灶上，厨师杨国斌在桶内不停搅拌。

"It's a tradition for us to prepare free cold drinks such as plum syrup and mung bean soup every summer. As the temperature has remained constantly high this year, we've increased our daily quantity of cold drinks to about 100 liters every day," said Zhang Zhen, a staff member of the Hankou Railway Station.
“每年夏天准备像酸梅汤和绿豆汤这样的免费冷饮是我们的老传统，今年天气持续高温，我们也增加了每天的备货量，一天准备百升左右。”工作人员张震介绍。
In the volunteers' booth on the west side of the square, there was a bucket of plum syrup on the table with a sign informing passengers about the free item. "Free cold drinks enjoy such great popularity that the first container in the morning was emptied in less than an hour," said Wang Qian, a volunteer on duty.
在广场西边的志愿者岗亭桌上有一桶酸梅汤，桶壁上贴着“免费酸梅汤”几个大字。“免费冷饮很受欢迎，上午第一桶不到一小时就喝完了。”在此值班的志愿者王倩说。
Besides the passengers, hundreds of volunteers, sanitation workers and security guards also fetched cold drinks with their cups and beverage bottles.
前来享受冷饮的不只有旅客，广场上还有上百名志愿者、环卫工和安保队员坚守着岗位，他们也会拿着杯子或空饮料瓶来“打水”。
