"The Wandering Earth 2" is a big hit. Many elements of the movie, such as the mechanical dog "Ben Ben," have become very popular. Recently, Zhou Hang, a postgraduate student from Hubei University of Technology, replicated a 3D model of it on the computer.
《流浪地球2》大火,电影里的不少形象受到热捧,其中就包括机械狗“笨笨”。近日,湖北工业大学硕士研究生周航在电脑上复刻出了“笨笨”的三维模型。

In the film, "Ben Ben" is able to travel, survey, and survive in hostile locations such as outer space and the ocean. According to Zhou, "Ben Ben" can be adjusted and made useful in the daily lives of ordinary folks. Wheeled mobile robots are the focus of his current research.
在电影中,“笨笨”拥有在外太空、海底等极端环境下运输、勘测、躲避的功能。周航说,对“笨笨”进行优化后能用于服务普通人的日常生活。这也正是他的研究方向——轮式移动机器人。
Zhou's creation looks exactly like the character in the movie. It can not only sweep the floor, but also carry light items. Considering that "Ben Ben" in the movie can shrink into itself when frightened, Zhou designed it so that it can be folded up and be put into a box for easy carrying and storage.
从外观上看,周航设计的“笨笨”与电影中的形象十分相似。他的“笨笨”不仅可以实现扫地机器人的功能,还可以实现一些轻量的物品搬运。看到电影里的“笨笨”会因害怕缩成一团,周航同样为其设计了折叠功能,可以装进盒子里便于携带和保管。

Zhou's "Ben Ben" has finished the physical simulation experiment of ROS / Gazebo, a reputable robotics simulation program that is recognized by academics worldwide as being able to accurately replicate experimental environments. The physical assembly of "Ben Ben" is currently not possible because of a shortage of hardware equipment. According to Zhou, his "Ben Ben" can be put into mass production within two weeks if funding is made available.
目前,周航的“笨笨”是在ROS/Gazebo中完成了实物仿真实验,这是一款被国际学者所认可的机器人权威仿真软件,能真实模拟出实际实验环境。由于当前还缺少一些硬件设备,暂时无法进行实物的组装。周航说,如果能得到资金支持,这款“笨笨”可在两周内量产交付。
