"Tianshouyu," an imperial ritual wine vessel of the late Shang dynasty, is covered with three layers of patterns. It is also one of China's Class A heritage relics. It was found amongst the ruins located at Shamao Hill and has been on tour in countries such as the U.S., Germany, and Japan. It was once used as the emblem of the Hubei Provincial Museum.

The "Hanyang Man skull fossil" was discovered in 1997 at the Shamao River Bank. It dates to 10,000 to 50,000 years ago, making it the oldest human skull found in the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River.
